Garden Rooms

In recent years we have seen more and more homeowners looking to extend the living space and maximise the value of their existing properties. Garden Rooms are becoming an increasingly popular and affordable way to achieve both these aims, often without any requirement for planning permission.

 

We design and build our bespoke garden rooms within the space available, however awkward, and taking into consideration the ultimate usage of the building, the light required and where the doors and windows are needed.

 

Because each build is specifically designed around our clients’ needs, budgets and available space, no two are the same and so these are exciting projects that we thoroughly enjoy creating.

 

 

OUTDOOR LIVING

Many gardens offer the opportunity to add a beautiful feature that also increases a family’s living space. Barnwood offers a large range of garden services that have greatly benefited many clients.

 

We use the beauty of green oak and traditional carpentry skills to construct individually unique pergolas which frame and compliment landscaping, patios and steps.  These pergolas can be curved, follow steps, extend over water or simply frame your favourite spot.  Some are simple and others follow complex and ornate designs.  We design each one with your vision in mind.

 

Barnwood can help maximise space by adding porches and canopies, Summer Houses and Pool Rooms. Decking areas can also add to the versatility of your garden and outside space.

 

Outdoor storage is often a key requirement and we can design and fit refuse and recycling stores, log stores and sheds and either make them a feature, or conceal them.

 

Family and fun are extremely important to us and we have truly enjoyed designing and constructing bespoke tree platforms, tree houses, Wendy houses and other imaginative play areas.

 

 

BARNS & FRAMING

We are proud to be part of the continuation of the centuries old tradition of oak framing. This form of construction has a particularly strong heritage in the South East of England.

 

We have developed a particular niche in dealing with bespoke projects where clients are looking for a specific solution to their projects rather than an off-the-shelf design.

 

Whether you are looking to renovate or convert an existing building, re-site a building, add to an existing building or build an entirely new structure, our traditional framing and roofing skills ensure that we provide the best possible solution.

 

Our restorations and extensions are always sympathetic to any existing property, material matching as far as possible to ensure the site as a whole is enhanced by the work we do.

 

New buildings are designed to the clients specifications and we offer both traditional and contemporary features, styles and materials to help achieve our clients’ visions.

 

We have a wealth of experience in working with arable and livestock buildings, in some instances enabling diversification into other income generating areas.

 

 

HOME & STORAGE

Storage at home is often a problem in busy family life but there is always something that can be done to make life that little bit easier. Barnwood offers the skill and imagination needed to maximise the space in your home and create optimum storage spaces, either as a feature for any room or disguised and concealed from view.

 

We also install staircases, fire surrounds, floors, windows and doors, all to our client’s specification.

 

Barnwood project manage loft conversions and other larger scale internal projects using a team of associated trades from our extensive, tried, tested and trusted network of specialists and general contractors.

 

 

ROOFING & TILING

Barnwood offer a full cut roofing and tiling service. We have considerable experience in working with all available tiling materials, both new and reclaimed.  We have established relationships with local reclamation yards if a match of materials is required.

 

Our cut-roofing expertise allows us to offer roofing solutions to even the most complicated of period property roofs. These roofs have often been added onto and extended over the years and so require systems such as back and box gutters, lead work platforms and innovative guttering systems, all of which we can help advise our clients on. We are able to work in both hard and softwood.

 

 

CONTRACTING

Since our establishment in 2008, we have developed many close working relationships with local companies who use us as their first choice for their carpentry needs.

 

Several local joinery firms use us for our door and window fitting service.  We work closely with a number of local general building firms providing, structural and 2nd fix carpentry. We have also provided landscaping carpentry such as pergolas and decking for a number of landscaping firms.

 

We are always keen to establish new working relationships with other firms and would be delighted to hear from you to discuss your requirements. We can provide either fixed prices or day rate quotations depending on the project.
