Carpentry & Construction Contractors with a difference

Family owned and managed by Richard & Tabitha Northrup

Richard, a former arborist with a passion for working with hardwood timber, founded Barnwood Carpentry in 2008 and, since then, has built its reputation as a trusted, family-owned carpentry and construction business, always providing outstanding service and end results.

Following a long period of growth, he was joined by his wife Tabitha to help project manage and run the business, ensuring that customer services remained a priority to maintain the excellent reputation it had earned.

Initially focusing on green oak timber framed buildings,  the company expanded to include garden studios and internal and external carpentry projects as well as additional oak construction projects such as footbridges and staircases. What sets Barnwood Carpentry apart from the competition is that as well as working with private residential clients and as contractors on commercial projects, they also work with local authorities including Surrey County Council and Mole Valley District Council, demonstrating their ability to satisfy the strict demands of working on public projects.

We are always keen to minimise the impact of any project on the environment and to discuss the reuse of existing materials where appropriate. We can source these from our client’s materials, reclamation yards, and auction sites.

Being flexible enough to recycle materials can help reduce overall project costs. Construction projects will always generate a certain amount of waste. We guarantee that this waste will always be disposed of in an appropriate and considerate manner.
