The Barnwood Carpentry team is made up of highly skilled carpenters with traditional framing skills and the ability to work with a wide spectrum of materials, tools, and designs, using both traditional craftsmanship and modern machinery.
We use traditional jointing methods such as mortice-and-tenon, dovetail, and scarf joints and fix using hand-made dowels or high-quality fixings, which can be made a feature or hidden behind wooden pellets.
We enjoy the variety of finishes provided by the different timbers and materials available, including traditional green and seasoned Oak, Glulam beams, Douglas Fir, Cedar, and Larch. We are proud to be part of the continuation of the centuries-old tradition of oak framing, which has a particularly strong heritage in the South East of England.
